What Motivates Us to Work?

motivation, Dan Ariely, Behavior, Work BehaviorIt’s been awhile since I absorbed any wisdom from Dan Ariely, and I’m glad I spent some time with him the other night on NetFlix.

Right away the topic resonates; “What makes us feel good about our work?” This happens to be a relevant topic in many of conversations I’ve been having lately. You may also know if you’re close to my thoughts and words on this website that it is NOT about the exchange of money for Products, Services or Information (in most cases) although it provides some way to “measure” appreciation or “Value” sometimes.

Why Do Mountain Climbers Climb Mountains?

Think about this — Why? As Dan points out, we don’t hear the stories of joy but pain, and challenge and “frostbite”
